Enhancing Memories with Sleep Sounds
Scientists at Northwestern University associated sounds (such as cat meowing) with objects on a computer screen1. While these people napped, the sounds for some of the objects were played along with white noise. Amazingly, the subjects better remembered locations of the objects associated with the sounds that were played with the white noise. 1 Strengthening Individual Memories by Reactivating Them During Sleep http://graphics8.nytimes.com/packages/pdf/science/rudoy091120.pdf |
